Junior assistant caught taking Rs 10,000 bribe in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: Odisha Vigilance Thursday apprehended a junior assistant posted in the office of the District Education Officer (DEO) in Bhadrak while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a representative of a private school.

The accused has been identified as Srikanta Kumar Dash. According to officials, he had allegedly demanded the money to process a file related to a private school in the district.

Acting on a complaint, Vigilance officers laid a trap and caught the assistant red-handed while accepting bribe.

Officials said the anti-corruption agency is continuing its investigation and that further action will be taken in accordance with the law.
