Bhubaneswar: Kabita, who claims to be the daughter-in-law of Champua MLA Santan Mahakud, Thursday submitted documents as evidence of her marital relation with the MLA’s son Pankaj Mahakud to Mahila police.
Kabita gave photographs of her and Pankaj Mahakud together, the birth
certificate of her daughter and bank passbooks and other documents that
purportedly show Pankaj to be her
husband.
A case under section 498 (a) (cruelty by husband), 560 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of IPC was registered against Pankaj at the Mahila police station March 1.
Kabita alleged that the MLA is keeping her husband away from her and said police should have called Pankaj to the police station and arrested the MLA.
