Kamakhyanagar trader murder: Two more held

Kamakhyanagar: Police arrested late Sunday night, two contract killers allegedly involved in the murder of a Kamakhyanagar trader in minerals, Nirakar Sahu, officials said Monday.

The two have been identified as Radhe alias Rakesh Nath and his associate Rupa alias Deba Braja from Badampahad of Mayurbhanj district.

Nirakar was allegedly shot dead here, September 27. Dhenkanal SP Gyanaranjan Mohapatra informed that a squad comprising of district police personnel and members of the special task force (STF) raided a place in Badampahad locality leading to the arrest of the two accused.

“Others involved in the crime will be nabbed soon,” the SP said at a press conference here.

The prime accused in the case, Dibyadarshan Mohanta had been arrested October 26. It has been alleged that Dibyadarshan had hired the contract killers to eliminate Nirakar as the latter was involved in the murder of Dibyadarshan’s dad.

Initially the murder of Nirakar had left the police in the lurch as there were no leads. However, police continued the investigations studiously and unearthed the plot. Police had recovered Nirakar’s body from the Malabandha canal here.
