Keonjhar 100 high schools, OAVs put under 5T ambit

Keonjhar: As the state government has emphasised ‘High School Transformation’ programme under 5T initiative across the state, 100 state-run high schools and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) have been included in the progrmme in Keonjhar district, a report said.

These schools are now being upgraded with various facilities in 13 blocks while Collector Ashish Thakare, PD(DRDA), all sub-collectors, the district education officer, all BDOs, tehsildars and BEOs have been routinely reviewing the progress of the work under the programme.

According to the district administration, 436 high schools and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalays in the district will be included in the progrnmme in the next phase.

The fund for the project is being provided from the district mineral foundation (DMF). The High School Transformation programme aims at giving a complete facelift to the state-run high schools.

These schools are being equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like e-library, smart classrooms, computer rooms, science laboratories, sports facilities, reading rooms, labs, drinking water facilities, hygienic toilets and above all a conducive study environment to ensure that rural children get exposure to various innovative ideas.

It was learnt that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate these schools October 2. Notably, it is the dream project of the Chief Minister.
