Keonjhar emerge champs

 

Bhubaneswar: Keonjhar emerged champions of the State Wushu Championships, which concluded here Sunday.

Keonjhar took the top honours with a total of 55 medals including 31 gold, 10 silver and 14 bronze. Sundargarh secured second position with 50 medals comprising 16 gold, 15 silver and 19 bronze. Khurda (31 medals with nine gold) finished third, while Sambalpur (six medals including three gold) had to be satisfied with a fourth-place finish.

Pratap Sahu of Khurda and Sukanti Munda of Keonjhar were adjudged as best fighters in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.

Wushu Association of India (WAI) secretary Sohel Ahmed joined as the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
