Keonjhar: A Keonjhar court Wednesday sentenced Satrughna Naik to life imprisonment and fined him Rs 10,000 for killing his nephew Kamalakant Naik in May 2022.
The incident occurred in Talapada village when Kamalakant, after returning home and asking for food, verbally abused his wife, prompting Satrughna to intervene.
An argument escalated, and Satrughna struck Kamalakant with a stick, leaving him unconscious.

Due to a lack of transport, he could not be taken to a medical center and died the next morning.
Based on the complaint by Kamalakant’s wife, the police filed a case, leading to his conviction.
