Kerosene stove explosion injures four in Bolangir

Bolangir:  Four members of a family sustained burn injuries after a kerosene stove exploded in their house Monday evening. The incident took place near College Square under Patnagarh police limits in Bolangir district.

The injured have been identified as Bhairab Satakuria, his wife Padma, daughter Dibya and son Ayush.

According to locals, Padma was busy cooking food in a kerosene stove Monday evening when it suddenly exploded. All four members present in the house sustained critical injuries.

They were initially admitted to Patnagrah hospital and later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir.

The health condition Padma and his son are said to be critical.

It may be mentioned here that two police personnel were charred to death in a LPG cylinder blast while cooking food following a gas leak at their rented house at Kharinasi under Mahakalapara block in Kendrapara district September 1, 2019. The two were stated to be former Army men who were engaged in sea patrolling in speed boats.
