Bhubaneswar, Dec 13: WGM Kiran Manisha Mohanty won her fifth and sixth round matches to leapfrog to the joint top spot in the All India Open Fide Rating Women’s Chess Championship here Sunday. She is now leading the top spot along with Mary Ann Gomes of West Bengal with five points each.
Kiran prevailed over IM Nisha Mohota of West Bengal and in-form Bhakti Kulkarni of Air India in the fifth and the sixth round matches respectively
In the fifth round matches, Rutumbara hold K Priyanka of Tamil
Nadu, while Anisha outwitted WGM Mitali Madhukar Patil of Maharashtra. Smaraki prevailed over R Srimathi of Tamil Nadu.
Other results: Aparajita Gochhikar(Orissa) drew with Rupal Mishra (Orissa), Shreya Smruti Mohanty lost to Ankita Goud Palle (AP), Priyanka Routray (Orissa) lost to Trisha Kanyam Arala (AP), Miracle Panda (Orissa) lost to V Rindhiya (Tamil Nadu), Sampanna Hota (Orissa) bt Bijaylaxmi Barik (Orissa), Priyanka Patnaik(Orissa) lost to Sthita Prajna Behera (Orissa).
