Knee surgery at rly hospital

Bhubaneswar: Doctors of East Coast Railway (ECoR) Central Hospital at Mancheswar has successfully performed a rare bilateral knee replacement surgery on a 55-year-old woman, spouse of a railway employee, who had been suffering from severe Osteo-arthritis with severely damaged knees.
Earlier, the Railway Central Hospital was conducting single knee replacement surgery and was depended on corporate hospitals for referral of such cases.
The consultant surgeon Debasish Mishra and additional chief health director J Jena, along with Sk Sirajuddin and Lingaraj Sahu conducted the surgery which took two-and-half-an-hour.
Principal Chief Medical Director of East Coast Railway S K Mohanty and Medical Director of Railway Central Hospital Arundhati Senapati appreciated and congratulated the surgery team for successful operation.
