Nuagaon: Nuapada district’s Komna tehsildar Surendra Nath Nanda was killed in a tragic accident near Sorada under Nuagaon police limits in Nayagarh region. He was 45.
Sources said, Nanda was on his way from Komna to Bhubaneswar to attend some election-related work in a Chevrolet Tavera car when the accident occured.
They said that the car was travelling at high speed and near Sorada, the vehicle rammed into a stationary truck. The collision was so intense that the vehicle’s left side was completely decimated. As Nanda was occupying the left side, he suffered serious injuries.
Local people extracted Nanda from the damaged vehicle and took him to the Dasapalla Government Hospital. However, doctors there pronounced him dead on arrival. The body has been sent to Nayagarh district headquarters hospital (DHH) for post-mortem.
