Konark: The Bhusurakhya Kriyanusthan Committee Saturday staged a protest by blocking several roads here and demanded permanent solution to land disputes in the area. Vehicular movement to Konark Sun Temple was disrupted due to the agitation. The committee members, led by Sukant Mohanty, president, staged the road blockade at Raulpatna Chhak on Kakatpur main road, Bansi Bazar on Konark-Puri road and Balikapileswar Chhak and demanded permanent land records for the residents of 10 revenue mouzas under Konark additional tehsil office, including Konark, Beruhan, Tikina and Barapada. Puri sub collector Bhabataran Sahoo reached the spot and held a discussion with the representatives of the committee. After talking with the collector over phone, Sahoo promised a permanent solution. He also informed them that a meeting would be held August 21 following which the protest was called off.
