Koraput job seekers for district-based hiring

Jeypore: Scores of trained youths aspiring for Sikhya Sahayak jobs Tuesday threatened to stage a stir unless the authorities filled up the vacancies district-wise.

The youths who completed CT and OTET courses gathered on Banka Math premises here and pitched for appointment of local youths for the existing vacancies in Koraput district.
Supporting their demands, they said Koraput is a tribal dominated district. However, the government often appoints youths of coastal region in this district.

They don’t understand the language of the school students properly and the students also find it difficult to follow their teachers. Besides, appointment of outsiders in the district has left local youths jobless.

On the other hand, government couldn’t provide security to Itishree Pradhan, a girl of coastal district who worked in Tikiri, the job seekers claimed.
Shikhya Sahayika Pradhan was set on fire and later she succumbed to her burn injuries.
The trained youths apprised the government of their demands through the collector and sub-collector, it was learnt.

They threatened to stage a demonstration from February if their demands are not conceded. Several pass out students including Sunita Rani Jena, Sagarika Banua and Kalpana Pani were present at the meeting. PNN
