Koraput: A new chapter in Koraput’s tourism development began with the inauguration of Putsil Eco Retreat in the Semiliguda block.
The initiative, launched by the state government, aims to position Koraput as one of the state’s most attractive nature-based tourist destinations.
District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan expressed his satisfaction over the launch and highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening tourism infrastructure in the region.
He stated that Koraput, with its unmatched landscape, rich biodiversity, and pleasant climate, has immense potential to draw national and international travellers.
“The Eco Retreat at Putsil will not only attract tourists but will also give them an opportunity to experience the untouched natural beauty of Koraput.
This initiative marks the beginning of several efforts aimed at promoting sustainable tourism in the district,” the Collector said.
The Putsil area, already popular for its scenic valleys, sunrise points, and hilltop views, is expected to see a significant rise in footfall with the arrival of luxury tent accommodations, guided nature experiences, adventure activities, and curated local cultural events.
Officials believe this will create new livelihood opportunities for local communities, especially in hospitality, handicrafts, and transport services.
The Eco Retreat is part of the state’s broader vision to develop eco-friendly tourism hubs across Odisha while preserving the environment.
With this launch, Koraput hopes to secure a stronger place on the tourism map and offer visitors a memorable blend of nature, adventure, and cultural heritage.
