Digapahandi: A daily wage labourer attempted to end his life Monday, fed up over repeated quarrels his wife had with him. The incident was reported from Padmanavpur village under this block in Ganjam district.
He worked as a daily labourer in the capital and returned home a few days back. Frequent altercations with his wife put him under stress, and he tried to hang himself, as per locals’ version of the incident.
They said he locked himself in a room and tried to end his life. Family members spotted him in a critical condition and he was taken to a local hospital. Later, he was referred to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for special treatment. His condition was normal after treatment, sources said.
