BHUBANESWAR: As the festive fervour of Navratri looms, women in the city are already on the hunt for the latest festive trends in apparel.
Orissa POST interacted with designers in the capital who offered offbeat ideas to make one stand out during pandal visits.
Designer Reemly Mohanty said, “Clothing in this puja season is all about floral designs, mix and match dresses, ready-to-wear gowns. Moreover, the traditional fabrics of Tangail, Bandhani and Baluchari are here to stay. Fashion should be chosen in a way that it enhances one’s personality.”
Budding designer Rimi Guha said, “Nothing replaces a classic. If you aren’t wary of carrying this rich style, then a classic silk saree is definitely the epitome of the Puja look. A Bengali style red and white saree can be spotted from a distance. Bengali Tant sarees are definitely the most popular choice for Durga Puja fashion.”
“Tangail Sarees are made of many different colors and designs. For example Jamdani or soft like silk, half silk, Tangail B.T, Baluchori, Jaripar, Hajarabuti, Sutipar, Kotki, Swarnachura, Ikkat, Anarkali, Devdas, Kumkum, Sananda, Nilambari and Moyurakanthi,” she added.
