Lancers face Warriors challenge

Bhubaneswar, Feb 6: Buoyed by their dominating victory over Delhi Waveriders, in-form Kalinga Lancers will meet Jaypee Punjab Warriors at their home venue Kalinga Stadium here Sunday.
Lancers are currently at the top of the points table with 22 points from six matches with four wins and two losses. On the other hand, Warriors are lagging on the fourth spot with 17 points from equal number of matches with three wins and three losses.
Lancers have won their last match against Delhi Waveriders, while Warriors have been thrashed by Uttar Pradesh Wizards. With the home supporters backing the hosts up to the hilt, it will not be an easy task for the visiting side to face the rampaging Lancers at their own backyard.
Orissa eves lose
Orissa suffered a humiliating seven wickets loss against Jharkhand in a match of the Women’s U-23 Zonal League ODI cricket tournament at the Nimpur Ground in Cuttack Saturday.
Put into bat first, Orissa faced a batting debacle and were bowled out for a paltry 76 in 44.5 overs. Roshni (2/15) and Rachana Kumari (2/14) bowled well for the visitors.
In reply Jharakhand had no trouble in chasing the total as they romped home in 26.5 overs for the loss of three wickets. Ritu Kumari (57) and Sonia (55) hit half centuries to lead the run chase.
Bihar win
Bihar scraped past Jharkhand 3-1 in a match of the Sub-Junior National Football Championship at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Saturday. Md Abujar (11th), Rajrai Chand (54th) and Sumit Soreng (84th) scored for Bihar. Sumit Soreng (84th) got one back for Jharkhand.
