Tihidi: A man was Sunday stabbed to death while his son was left battling for life after both of them were attacked by their neighbours over some land dispute at Gokulpur village near Tihidi in Bhadrak district.
The deceased was identified as Padmalochan Tarei (50) while his son Umakant Tarei (25) was admitted at Tihidi community health centre. He was later referred to Bhadrak district hospital for further treatment.
According to sources, a dispute prevailed between Tarei’s family with their neighbour over some land issue. Things took an ugly turn after the two families attacked each other over the issue Sunday morning.
The neighbours were on the run after the incident, fearing arrest.
On being alerted, a police team reached the village and launched a probe. The body was seized and sent for post-mortem while a manhunt was launched to nab the miscreants.
