Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a thunderstorm and lightning alert for nine districts till 12:45 pm Thursday.
According to the bulletin, thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Bargarh, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Nuapada and Puri.
As per latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and spells of rain is likely to occur over these districts till 12.45 pm Thursday.
The bulletin warned people in these districts to take shelter in nearby building or other safety locations in the event of such weather condition.
