Berhampur: A liquor salesman was found dead in Jagdalpur village under Sadar police limits here Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Bijoy Kumar Dakua, who was a salesman in the village’s liquor shop.
Dakua was found lying dead in a pool of blood near the village temple with his head hacked. Soon after his body was found, locals created a ruckus at the scene alleging that Dakua was murdered.
According to reports, Dakua was returning home from the shop at around 11 pm Wednesday when some miscreants attacked him which led to his death on the spot.
While exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, police have reached the spot and are investigating into the matter.
