Dhamnagar: About 130 students fell ill after eating the midday meal (MDM) at Jayanagar Sevashram School in Munsipatna village under this NAC in Bhadrak district Monday. A lizard was reportedly found in the meal. The affected students were taken to Dhamnagar CHC in police vehicles, autorickshaws and ambulances. Some students were discharged after receiving first aid, while the remaining students continued to receive treatment.
Doctors said the students would be discharged after their condition improved. The incident sparked anger among parents, who demanded a proper investigation into the matter. School teachers remained at the hospital while police personnel were deployed under the supervision of Dhamnagar police station inspector Shubhrjit Dash.
