Chandbali: Villagers had brought up allegations of irregularities against the sarpanch of Mausudha panchayat under this block in Bhadrak. To look into the matter, director of Lokayukta Trilochan Pradhan visited the panchayat Thursday.
Pradhan during his visit interacted with villagers, the complainants and government officials about the irregularities.
RTI activist Suresh Nayak had got information about some irregularities in the panchayat and drawn attention of the Lokayukta in March this year.
The Lokayukta had asked sarpanch Shantilata Mallick to file her replies before it by August 18. However, no replies came from the sarpanch by the deadline.
The Lokayukta director was accompanied by APD Rajendra Narayan Panda, BDO Shyamsundar Tudu, executive engineer Ratikant Mohant, junior engineer Pradyumna Sahu, PEO Kamalakant Kar and GRS Bikash Sahu.
Pradhan has sought some files from the Chandbali block and the Mausudha panchayat office.
