Loot allegation against policemen in Bargarh

Bargarh police station

Bargarh: A businessman in Bargarh district Monday filed a complaint against four policemen, alleging that the cops looted Rs 4.5 lakh from him.

Nandalal said in his complaint that the policemen intercepted the bus he was travelling in and took his bag containing the cash near at Bhatli chhak.

He was travelling from Paikamal to Sambalpur when a PCR van stopped the bus. The policemen asked the bus driver if the businessman was inside the bus. After entering the bus, they searched his bag, seized the money and told him to go to the Sadar police station.

“I was forced to lodge an FIR against the four cops after they refused to give back the money,” he alleged.

When contacted, SDPO of Bargarh, Suresh Nayak confirmed about the complaint.

“Our investigation is on to find out the veracity of the allegation,” he added.
