Born in a Tamil speaking family from Chennai, Ashwin met his love, Prithi Narayanan during school days. A friendship blossomed between the two and went on to grow stronger when both of them enrolled in the same college together. The couple joined SSN College of Engineering in Chennai and it was there that love blossomed between the two.
As his cricket career started shaping up, his personal time with Prithi kept getting shorter and shorter. However, Prithi understood and respected his commitment towards his passion and career.
Later, after approval from their families, the couple finally tied the knot November 13, 2011. The couple was blessed with a cute, baby girl in 2015. Ashwin and Prithi named their daughter, Akhira. And, their second little angel was born December 21, 2016.
Prithi can often be seen accompanying Ashwin to his matches.
