Majhi hails NIT Rourkela’s chips at SEMICON India

New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Friday expressed pride over NIT  Rourkela’s indigenous semiconductor chip designs being showcased at SEMICON India 2026.

Majhi said the achievement reflected the talent, innovation and research capabilities of Odisha’s institutions and was a matter of immense pride for the people of the state.

“Proud to see NIT Rourkela’s indigenous chip designs featured among the Made-in-India semiconductor chips showcased at SEMICON India. It is a testament to the talent, innovation and research capabilities of our institutions,” he said.

The Chief Minister congratulated the scientists, researchers and the entire NIT Rourkela team for their contribution to India’s semiconductor journey.

Majhi said India was steadily moving towards building a strong and self-reliant semiconductor ecosystem under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, with the efforts of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

“Odisha is proud to see its talent contributing to India’s semiconductor journey and the nation’s march towards technological self-reliance,” Majhi said.
