Cuttack: A timely action from the fire department team averted a major fire mishap at the casualty ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital here Monday morning.
The fire broke out due to short circuit after a lightning strike, officials said.
The air conditioning system was damaged in the fire, while a leakage in oxygen pipeline was also reported.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Trauma Care and Central ICU were affected in the fire mishap.
The electricity department officials also reached the spot and carried out repair works. Barring the air condition unit, all other units are functioning properly, reports said.
