Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police Tuesday summoned a BMC Mall official and an event manager of roof-top rain dance party in which a 19-year-old girl was allegedly molested by miscreants late Monday evening.
Sahid Nagar police said they have summoned BMC Mall official Sandeep Singh and roof-top rain dance party event manager Rajesh Khanna to ascertain whether they had taken permission before organising the jamboree.
The police have so far arrested two persons on charges of molesting and physically assaulting a girl who had accompanied her friends to the party.
“The girl has stated that she knows the main accused Sanjay Patra. Sanjay and his friends were in an inebriated state during the party. When Sanjay molested the girl she and her friends offered resistance. Enraged over their reaction, Sanjay thrashed them. The girl was thrashed so badly that her clothes were torn,” the police said.
“We have arrested Nihar Ranjan Das and Suraj Sahu, both in their 30s, from Pahala. Sanjay and his friends have sweets shops at Pahala. We have launched a search operation to nab Sanjay,” the police added.
The fight was so fierce that Sahid Nagar police arrived in two PCR vans and a platoon of police force was deployed to bring the situation under control.
