Barang: A man was crushed to death by a ten-wheeler truck in front of Barang police station near Phulpokhari village in Cuttack district Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Binod Sahu (30).
The accident happened when Binod was returning from the police station after recording his statement in connection with a clash at 8 pm.
While he was crossing the road, the vehicle hit him from behind and crushed him under its wheel. The driver fled the spot.
Binod succumbed to his injuries on the way to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The agitated locals blocked the Barang-Cuttack main road, disrupting the traffic for some hours.
Later the police officials pacified the agitators.
