Brajarajnagar: A 26-year-old man was killed and two others were seriously injured after a wall of a house collapsed under Brajarajnagar municipality limits of Jharsuguda district Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Abhaya Bhumik of Abhaypur Mundapada. His wife Anu Munda, and their neighbour Laxmi Munda suffered serious injuries. Another person identified as Lalit Munda sustained minor injuries.
The injured were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Jharsuguda for treatment. According to officials, the incident occurred at around 10 pm when the family members were sitting inside the house.
As the wall began to collapse, those inside tried to run to safe ty. However, Abhaya failed to escape and was trapped under the debris. He was immediately rushed to the Mandalia hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
A revenue inspector (RI) from Brajarajnagar visited the spot to assess the damage and submitted a report to the tehsildar for further action. The cause of the wall collapse was not immediately known.
