Nayagarh: A man died of asphyxiation while his nephew has been hospitalised in a critical condition. The two were working on a septic tank in Odagaon area of Nayagarh district Wednesday morning. The deceased was Baikuntha Behera (55)of Gadipali village and his nephew undergoing treatment is Paban Behera (28).
Sources said the incident occurred while the two were removing the lid of a person’s septic tank. All of a sudden, they fainted. Locals rushed them to the district hospital. Baikuntha was declared dead upon his arrival there. Paban was in a criticial condition. Police sent the body for post-mortem and a case has been registered.
Paban is under treatment in the district headquarters hospital and his condition was stated critical. Police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. A case was registered and a probe was on.
