Bhubaneswar: Infocity police has arrested a 42-yearold man in connection with the theft of a movable food stall and two gas cylinders from the Infocity area here and recovered the stolen items, police said Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Amiya Ranjan Natha (42), a resident of the City. According to police, the case was registered on the basis of a written complaint lodged by Pintu Das. He stated that he had been operating a movable food stall near Khao Gali under Infocity police limits when, February 24, some unidentified miscreants allegedly stole the stall along with two gas cylinders and other materials.
After failing to trace the stolen items despite extensive searches, the complainant approached the police. During the investigation, police received credible information and conducted a raid near Infocity Square, apprehending Natha. A Tata Ace vehicle, along with the stolen movable food stall, two gas cylinders and other materials, was seized from his possession.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to committing the theft with an associate. Natha was produced before the court, and further investigation is underway.
