Bhubaneswar: How pervert a person can get? A man has been detained by the Chandrasekharpur Police Station here for sadistically torturing his wife. It has been alleged that the man beat up his wife mercilessly, forced her into physical intimacy with others to earn money and even inserted a broken bottle into her private parts when she refused to do so.
The torture continued for 10 days before the woman finally managed to escape and lodge a complaint against her husband at the Chandrasekharpur PS. Police personnel after finding her in shock and bruise marks all over her body got her admitted to the Capital Hospital. Then they detained the accused.
On the basis her report, the police have registered a case (Case No-160/21). When contacted, Chandrasekhar police station IIC Yuvraj Swain said they have detained the accused and are conducting a probe.
The woman in her allegation said that she is a resident of Tumudibandha area in Kandhamal district. She had come to this city 10 years back in search of work. She fell in love with Chandan Acharya of Pattamundai area in Kendrapara district. Chandan earned his livelihood by driving an auto-rickshaw. Subsequently, they got married and the couple also has a five-year-old daughter.
However, married life for the woman soon turned hell. “He (accused) had been forcing me to sleep with others for money continuously for seven years. This apart, he would bring girls and was running a sex racket from the house. Whenever I tried to object, I was beaten mercilessly. Even when I was unconscious, there was no respite as he used to force strangers on me. For the last 10 days I was locked up and tortured inhumanly,” she alleged in the report.
The police have also rescued the couple’s daughter, it was learnt.
