Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly beat his wife to death over a domestic dispute and then “died by suicide” by hanging himself in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, police said.
The incident took place on Saturday night in Dadaraghati village under Parjang police limits in the district.
The deceased were identified as Mithun Nayak (33) and his wife Rasmita Nayak (30).
According to preliminary investigation, the couple was engaged in a heated argument following which the man killed his wife in a fit of rage and then hung himself in regret, locking his children in another room, said SDPO (Kamakhyanagar) Chittaranjan Behera.
An investigation into the matter has been initiated, he said.
