Bhadrak: In a case of superstition, a man Monday sacrificed himself while worshipping God by slitting his throat with a sharp knife at Sahaspur village near Dhusuri in Bhadrak district.
The deceased was 40-year-old Santosh Sayant.
According to sources, Santosh was performing puja at his house Monday morning. In a bid to appease the God, he sacrificed himself by slitting his throat with a knife. Hearing his screams, the family members rushed to the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was taken to Bhadrak hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
