Rourkela: To remind the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi of the promise he had made to the people of his town three years back, a 30-year-old from Rourkela in Sundargarh district has walked a distance of 1,350km to reach the PM.

During his visit to the State in 2015, the PM had promised to upgrade the Ispat General Hospital (IGH), lifeline of people in Rourkela to a super specialty hospital and provide better medical facilities. But, the situation has remained the same even after four years, claimed Biswal that gave him the zeal to take up the journey. Similarly, the PM also had promised to complete the construction of the Brahmani Bridge, Biswal said.
After managing to cover 1,350 km, Biswal fainted on a highway and was admitted to a hospital in Agra.
“People in my town are waiting for better medical facilities and infrastructure ever since PM Modi promised in 2015. I want to him and request to fulfill his promise. I am hopeful that the PM will fulfill his promise,” Biswal said lying in the hospital bed.
When asked from where he draws the inspiration to take on such battles, Biswal stated that the national flag inspires him.
“The National flag inspires me, that’s why I carried it throughout my journey.” Biswal says. Biswal’s spirit remains undaunted although he was lying in a bed of a hospital.
