Daringbadi: Panic gripped people after Maoist posters and banners were sighted in Simanbadi under this police limits in Kandhamal district Thursday.
The posters and banners were found at Budaguda Square on National Highway-59 and addressed by the Vamshadhara-Ghumusar-Nagabali divisional committee of the CPI (Maoists).
Locals claimed that the ultras through these posters have tried to reassert their presence in the area and struck panic among the residents.
The ultras for the first time have put up red banners in the area while in previous year they were only putting up posters.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and seized the banners and posters put up by the ultras.
The ultras through these posters have invited people to observe the foundation day of the outfit with all pomp, while asking them to stand up against women torture like rape and dowry demands.
They also called upon people to work for the neglected and deprived sections of the society, fight against the illegal hooch trade and join the movement against corruption and unemployment. The ultras also asked people to wage a war to achieve the objectives. PNN
