Meenakshi Seshadri, superhit actress of the 90s, now lives a life away from stardom

Mumbai: Meenakshi Seshadri was one of the most well known Hindi film actresses in the 1990s.

She earned fame but despite the recognition, Meenakshi  said goodbye to the film industry out of nowhere. Today i.e. November 16, on the occasion of her birthday, let’s knows some important facts about her life.

 

She was born in a Tamil family in Sindri, Jharkhand. At the age of 17, she won the title Eve’s Weekly Miss India contest in 1981. She made her Hindi film debut with the film Painter Babu (1983).

 

 

Meenakshi first came to limelight with the film Hero (1983) opposite Jackie Shroff. The film was a blockbuster and Meenakshi became an overnight star. Apart from this, Meenakshi impressed many with her acting in the film Damini (1993).

 

In her career, she gave many superhit films like Meri Jung, Ghayal, Ghatak, Shahenshah, Ghar Ho To Aisa and Toofan. After ruling the Hindi film industry, Meenakshi married investment banker Harish Mysore in 1995.

She retired from cinema soon after marrying Mysore. She had a civil wedding and a registered marriage in New York. The couple has two children, a daughter and a son. Meenakshi lives in Plano, Texas.

 

In addition to acting, Meenakshi was also very fond of dance. She may have maintained distance from films but kept himself attached to dance. She also teaches Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi in her own dance school called ‘Cherish Dance School’ in Texas.
