Meghi Jena murder: Accused son, daughter-in-law arrested

Jajpur: After being on the run for over a year, the law has finally caught up to the accused son and daughter-in-law in Meghi Jena murder case of Jajpur.

Both the accused have been produced in the court.

According to SDPO Rabindra Kumar Jena, a special team of police nabbed the couple in Paradip and has brought them to Bari for interrogation.

Bari IIC Chakrapati Kanhar said that Meghi had an altercation with her son Rajendra and daughter-in law Manjulata June 11, 2018. The verbal spat turned violent after a while and the couple hacked the elderly woman to death in a billhook. She died on the spot.

Meghi’s daughter had lodged a complaint with Bari police in this context.

The couple had been on the run to evade arrest ever since.
