Bolangir: A mentally deranged man allegedly hacked his wife to death over a family feud in Indupur village under Larambha police limits in Bolangir district Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kiaphula Bariha.
Sources said, Balakrushna Bariah, the accused, had a heated argument with his wife Kiaphula over some issue. In a fit of rage Balakrushna picked up an axe and hacked his wife and died on the spot.
On being informed, Larambha Police reached the spot and the seized the body. The body has been sent for postmortem. A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused who is absconding since the incident.
The victim’s younger brother has told the police that his brother-in-law was mentally ill. He said since after the birth his third girl child the two have been quarrelling frequently.
