BHUBANESWAR: Be it Shakira’s Waka waka or Jason Derulo’s Colours, the theme song of an event is like a premise for the spectacle that is about to unfold. It not only creates an environment for an upcoming mega event but also helps in promoting the host country globally.
Keeping this in mind, the Sports & Youth Services department of the state Wednesday released a music video for the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018, which is scheduled to be held at Kalinga Stadium from November 28 to December 16, 2018.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shared the song in social media. He encouraged all stakeholders to “make the event memorable for our guests from all over the world.”
Superstar Mika Singh and Odia singer Lipsa have lent their voice to the song Asa Kariba Bobaal. The music video features people from all ages and walks of life cheering for the nation in the upcoming event. Flavour of the host state is incorporated into the video with featuring of dancers in Sambalpuri and Odissi get-up.
Popular director Susant Mani has directed the foot-tapping music video produced by Nila Madhab Panda’s Eleeanora Images. The lyrics have been penned by Sachin Das Burma and the music has been composed by Goodly Rath.
Nila Madhab Panda said that the song attempts to depict the readiness of the host state to make the event successful. He said that the inclusion of Mika Singh adds a lot of punch and energy to the song.
Pallavi Das who also was the part of the video said that the songs video has the flavor of Odia music and charm and she is proud to be the part of the song.
The mega event is scheduled to be held at Kalinga Stadium here from November 28 to December 16, 2018. The opening ceremony of the event will be held November 27 with performances by super star Shah Rukh Khan and legendary music director A R Rahman, who has also composed the official song of the tournament.
