Daringbadi: An earthquake of slight intensity was felt at Daringbadi in Kandhamal district at about 10.31 am Saturday.
There has been no report of any damage to life and property and the quake lasted for few seconds. Residents panicked and they were seen running out of their houses.
Sources said, a two day Shanti Mahotsav is being observed here. Thousands of people from the district and outside are taking part in it. The earthquake left the participants in a jolted state.
The magnitude of the earthquake is yet to be ascertained.
Every year, this region experiences earthquake, however no damage to life and property has been reported so far.
The last reported quake in this region was on October 11 2017 at around 11:33 a.m. Its epicenter was at latitude 19.80 north and longitude 84.10 east in Kandhamal district.
