The third accused, a minor boy has been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M said the victim has undergone medical examination and was produced before the Child Welfare Committee.
A DSP-rank officer is investigating the case. Police said the girl had fled her home in Andhra Pradesh March 24 after alleged sexual abuse by her stepfather, against whom a separate case has already been registered. She reached Berhampur by train and was staying near the railway station, working at a tea stall. The minor boy allegedly took her to an abandoned place March 29 night where Arjun and Aditya were present. They allegedly gave intoxicants to the minor boy and the girl, after which both lost consciousness. The accused duo then allegedly raped the girl. Locals later found her lying in the area and informed the police, who rescued the girl. Based on her statement, a case was registered, and the accused were subsequently apprehended.
