Bhadrak: Police have arrested a man and his second wife Thursday for allegedly killing his daughter at Bhaunriabanka village of Barsara panchayat under Tihidi police limits in Bhadrak district.
The deceased was identified as Parbati Barik (17) while her father and stepmother were identified as Babaji Barik and Basanti Barik respectively.
According to sources, the accused duo allegedly thrashed the minor girl severely Wednesday night following which her condition became critical and she was rushed to Bhadrak hospital, where doctors declared her ‘brought dead’.
The deceased girl’s uncle Prabhakar Barik lodged a complaint with Tihidi police in this connection Thursday.
Acting on the complaint, police arrested the accused persons and started an investigation into the incident.
