Balasore: A minor girl was allegedly murdered by a miscreant at Golapol village under Sahadevkhunta police limits in Balasore district Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Neha Khatun (16) and a complaint is lodged at the police station by the family members. Acting on the compliant, the police have initiated an investigation and meanwhile, detained the deceased’s lover.
Neha, a Class IX student had eloped with her beau Sheikh Mamun 25 days back. Saturday 22 Dec they came back to their village and at about 11 pm while they were returning from market, a miscreant attacked Neha with a sharp weapon and fled the spot. Neha was immediately rushed to the Balasore district headquarters hospital however the doctors declared her brought dead.
Neha’s lover has been detained and is being interrogated to get a lead, police sources said.
