Sonepur: Six persons including three minors were arrested on the charge of spreading an obscene picture of a Plus II girl student on social media here.
Based on a complaint by the girl’s father, police registered a case and made the arrests.
The police also recovered six mobile phones from the accused. The accused have been identified as Milan Meher (19) of Thanapatipada, Subrhanshu Sekhar Kumbhar (19) of Block Square and Balia Naik (21) of Bhagati Plot and three minors. Three accused were produced in a court while the minors were produced before the juvenile justice board.
After clicking some obscene pictures of the girl, the accused posted it on WhatsApp. After the girl came to know about it through a friend, she informed her father who lodged a complaint.
“A case has been registered and a further probe is on,” a police official said.
