Joda: A student of St Mary School waiting for a bus here in Keonjhar district was stabbed by an unidentified youth after the latter took away his cell phone.
OS Nanda, a Class-XI student, was at Joda bus stand waiting for his school bus at 6.30 am Tuesday.
The miscreant reached there and asked the student for his mobile phone to make a call. Dialing the number, the student handed over the phone to the youth. After making the call, the youth did not give back the phone to the student and tried to go away.
When the student tried to detain him, the youth suddenly stabbed the former with a knife. Wounded, the student raised an alarm. By the time people came to his rescue, the accused had fled the scene.
Locals admitted the student to the Tata Steel Hospital. The police were informed of the incident.
