Berhampur: ATM loot was averted at Khalingi under Sanakhemundi block of Ganjam district due to blowing of a siren Saturday night. The ATM belonged to Indian Bank.
According to the police, some miscreants had gone to ATM kiosk and tried to break open the locks by cutting it with a gas cutter. However, the siren installed inside the ATM started blowing the miscreants fled the spot.
On being informed the police rushed to the spot to prevent further untoward incident. Police also thanked the bank authorities for installing the equipment to prevent ATM loot incidents. They also informed that the ATM kiosks other banks should also install the same facility.
