Khurda: In a broad daylight robbery, two bike-borne miscreants hit a man standing on the premises of Khurda Tehsil office and looted Rs 3.5 lakh from him Thursday.
Sources said one Samanta Pradhan of Tangiapada village had gone to Khurda Tehsil office to purchase a land after withdrawing the money from State Bank of India (SBI). While Pradhan was standing on the Tehsil office premises, the miscreants came on a bike and hit Pradhan before fleeing with Rs 3.5 lakh.
Sources said the miscreants had followed Pradhan after he withdrew money from the bank.
Acting on the complaint, police have begun an investigation into the incident. Police have sealed all exit point of the town and started checking of vehicles to nab the culprits.
