Manoj Mishra

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha IT Secretary Manoj Mishra appeared before the Capital police station Saturday in connection with the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of two files from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) during the previous BJD government.

The Commissionerate Police had July 15 issued summons to Mishra and former IAS officer Rajesh Verma, asking them to appear before the investigating officers by July 22. The summons directed the officers to appear before the police with any documents or electronic devices relevant to the investigation.

“We had issued summons to two officers, and former IT Secretary Manoj Mishra appeared today for questioning. The other officer is expected to appear soon. The investigation is underway,” said Capital Police Station Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Radhakanta Sahoo.

Speaking to reporters after his appearance, Mishra said, “The police had summoned officers associated with the departments concerned with the missing files, and I appeared to extend my full cooperation to the investigation. I have shared all the information related to the case with the investigating officers.”
