Bhanjanagar: A woman who had gone missing while on a morning walk was found dead in an abandoned well at Kirapalli village under Belguntha police limits in Ganjam district Friday.
The deceased was identified as Sita Sahu, wife of Rabindra Sahu, of Belguntha. Police recovered the decomposed body in the well Friday afternoon. Doubts are being raised whether her death was accidental or a murder.
Sita had gone missing after leaving home for a morning walk on Jirapalli road April 28. Belguntha outpost police sent the body for post-mortem and started an investigation.
Police said the woman lived with her children at Belguntha while her husband was working in Nayagarh. Family members searched for her but failed to trace her whereabouts. Police registered a case over a complaint by the family members.
