‘Mo Bus’ conductor held for giving fake ticket

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police recently arrested a conductor of ‘MO Bus’, the public transport service on charges of cheating passengers  by giving them fake tickets. The accused person, identified as Dushmanta Jena, 27, is a resident of Athagarh in Cuttack.  Jena has been staying at the Shyampur slum in Khandagiri police limits here.

According to sources, the special squad of the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) made a surprise raid on the Mo Bus running from Kalinga Nagar to Vani Vihar. The teams of CRUT often conduct such raids to find out the passengers travelling without ticket and other irregularities in the ‘Mo Bus’.

The team, during checking, found that around ten passengers have been given fake and back dated tickets. The team later filed a complaint with the Sahid Nagar police station in this regard.

Sahid Nagar police registered a case (490/19) under section 408 of the IPC related to ‘Criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant’.  The accused persons were reportedly sent to jail after the court rejected their bail.
